Farm/Disaster Program Update – 12/30/2024

With all the craziness that has taken place with the government and the passing of their continuing resolution in the last week, we wanted to provide an update on some of the items that have been approved as it pertains to potential farm payments.  Beside a one-year extension of the farm bill until 9/30/25, funding for the following 3 programs were approved:

• Marketing Assistance for Specialty Crops (MASC) – application deadline 1/8/2025
• Farmer Assistance and Revenue Mitigation Act (FARM Act)
• Emergency Relief Program (ERP) 2023 and 2024

Below give some details on each program.  We don’t have all the information but wanted to give an update on where some of these programs are sitting.  MASC is the only program with an open application window (January 8^th deadline), so if you grew a specialty crop (dry beans, dry peas, potatoes, or grass seed) in 2023 or 2024 or are planning to in 2025, contact us or your local FSA office as soon as possible.
